I'm Not Ashamed & Blogging With A Purpose Awards

Thank you dear blogging friends!

Over the Christmas and New Year Holidays, I received two blogging awards. It's taken me a little while to post about this, but hey, it's still Christmas around our house. (I still have to undecorate my tree and put decorations away this week -[smile]. Can anyone out there sympathize with me?)

First to dear Nedra at Ink Recitals, for giving me the I'm Not Ashamed Award from the Shameless Lion Writers Circle: A roar for powerful words.

Nedra said, "Susan and I are both preachers' kids and she has been a thoughtful reader and commenter throughout our entire blog interaction. Her writing is honest...balanced. I believe I could learn a thing or twenty from every one of her posts, so I continue to read her. Her story is so powerful, I have to care about her."

My second thank you is to Barbara at Ramblings from an English Garden. She has given me the Blogging With A Purpose Award.

Barbara said, "Susan is a writer and speaker and uses her blog to share her faith."

I am humbled to accept these awards from two incredible ladies from two different parts of the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Receiving these two awards reminds me of the motto of a Christian camp we vacation at during the summer months: "Vacation with a purpose."

Life is an adventure and by God's grace I intend to live every moment of it on purpose proclaming God's goodness and grace!

At church today, (our church sings a mix of hymns and contemporary choruses), we sang an old chorus called "This is the Day." This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. We have a reason to be glad every day because God has made the day. His compassions are new every morning! Jesus gives us a reason to live!

I'll shout it from the rooftop... God is good in the good times, the bad times, and every time in between! Praise the Lord!

Live the adventure,
Susan

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." Romans 1:16

Congratulations on the awards. I know you will get your most deserved award one day from God. Since I started blogging last year, I have been more observant of people around me. I have noticed that when I start talking about Church, God, or religion, people will try to change the subject. I don't know if they are afraid, ashamed or just bashful.

The other night at a resturant, I again heard someone talking negativly about the Church I go to. This person said that "They" are too vocal and happy about religion. "they" sing those contemporary Christian songs and stand and sing out loud when the urge hits them. But that's why I like it. :)

I commented on your treasure hunting post. You might be interested.

Helen, hi, yes, what a nice way to think of awards here on earth. I can't wait for the day when I can cast my crown at Jesus feet...

Nedra, right back at you my friend :)

Greg, thank you. And thanks for sharing that. It's sad to me when people don't have the joy of the Lord. My heart breaks to know what their missing out on, does that make sense? My prayer is people might really come to know Him... what a difference Jesus makes!

Stephen, you too my friend. I'm glad you received the Blogging with a Purpose :)

Amrita, thank you :)

Amen Susan!

Thank you Barbara. You're a love.
