Uh, What did God say again?

Did you ever wonder which way to go? On life's journey we may not always have our maps, our Bibles, with us. But we can learn to hide God's Word in our heart. It's been a long time since I've learned a new Bible verse on my own. Sometimes I find myself saying, "Uh, what did God say again? I forget the exact words..."

Last week while reading my Bible, I underlined two verses in Ezekiel. Well, many verses, but these are two that I will be committing to memory this week.

"Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God." Ezekiel 11:19,20 NKJV

Thank you Karen at Karen's Ramblings for hosting Memory Verse Monday and thank you Susan at Penless Writer for linking me there.

Live the adventure,
Susan
P.S. I've posted twice today, don't miss out on the short video link below...

What great verses they are too. I did read both posts today and I watched the video. I also finished Exodus on my quest to reread the entire Bible. I am learning so much. As I "fast" today, I am replacing my desire for food with a thurst for God's Word. It is very refreshing.

That's a beautiful verse! Like Greg I'm reading thru the Bible. My husband just bought the Bible on DVD and I love it but since we aren't in the same place on our readings I'm going to finish the NIV Daily Bible in another month or so then I'll do the KJ with the DVD. I'm hoping it will help me remember more.

Great scripture...I know that the Lord has been speaking to me as well about hiding more of His word in my heart and being able to know where it is located in His Word...who knows maybe I will add this to my Monday morning regime along with the cover to cover...

I used to think I was too old to memorize, or my brain was too full, or you name the excuse I used it to avoid memorizing God's Word. But you know what? I wasn't and it wasn't and I could. Memorize. What a great blessing, trouble reducer, stress reliever, peace giver, God (through His Word) is! Thank you for this wonderful reminder and for sharing this verse. The heart of flesh! I love this "Adventurous Living" you share! Have a great evening!
YSIC,
Kim

Thanks Greg. And way to go on that Bible reading. Keep going on that quest and you will not be sorry! So good to be refreshed, isn't it?

Dot, yes, God's Word is full of treasures, in fact it is a treasure. How nice that you have the Bible on DVD. It sounds like a great idea for trips in the car. I'm so glad to hear about your reading!

Helen, yes, that's good when He's speaking and when we listen and obey. I get very frustrated when I know part of a verse and can't remember the rest or where it's found. Sometimes when I go back and look up the reference in my concordance and then turn to the verse(s), I've found I don't have it exactly. A small word change here or there can really mess us up, sending us down the wrong path. The Devil loves to misquote Scripture and I certainly don't want to be on His team...

Jan, yes and I needed a push in the right direction. I can't wait to see how God is going to use this in my life and the lives of our family and beyond!

Hi Densie, welcome. Yes, those verses are beautiful indeed.

Kim, yes, a heart of flesh - a heart God can work with. And you're right, we can come up with all kinds of excuses... thanks for your encouragement and for sharing all those wonderful bonuses of memorizing God's Word!
